In the context of the Caribbean Regional Project for Biosafety Frameworks Implementation, on 3rd & 4th November 2016 a Biosafety Clearing House training workshop is being held at Paramaribo, Suriname, with the objective of leveraging knowledge about BCH operations and analysing & drafting a basic structure for a national Biosafety Clearing House system.
Several officers from different biosafety related government agencies are participating, along with organizations and Research Institutions. Basic aspects or Cartagena Protocol and effective BCH use were addressed.
BCH registered national information is being updated, National Authorized Users trained on registering information in the BCH, and national BCH website editors are being trained on uploading & editing information.
A basic structure and design for the national BCH website is being analysed.
This seminar and meeting has been designed and is facilitated by Dr. Ernesto Ocampo, a Biosafety Clearing House Specialist from Uruguay.
