Profile of the expert
Chalinee Kongsawat obtained her Ph.D. in Agricultural Biotechnology from Kasetsart University. In 2000, Chalinee joined the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) responsible for biosafety activities.
She had been in charge of secretarial works of many committees and subcommittees such as the National Biosafety Committee, the National Policy on Biosafety Sub-committee and the Plant Biosafety Sub-committee. She is currently a technical officer at BIOTEC and also in a secretariat of Technical Biosafety Committee (TBC). She is involved setting policy or guidelines for biosafety issues in Thailand such as Biosafety Guidelines for Work Related to Modern Biotechnology or Genetic Engineering and Policy Recommendations on Research and Development of Genetic Engineering and Biosafety.
