Organization’s profile
National Food and Veterinary Risk Assessment Institute (NFVRAI) is a competent food and veterinary risk assessment institution, which contributes scientific information, scientific and technical support in pursuance of state policy in the areas of food safety and veterinary and communicates on risks. NFVRAI Laboratory department organizes laboratory analysis in the fields of food and feed safety and veterinary. It implements modern laboratory investigation standards and tests in cooperation with EU and world Central Reference Laboratories. The Quality management system implemented in the Laboratory Department of the Institute ensures objectivity and reliability of investigations. Institute laboratories are accredited in accordance with according EN ISO 17025:2004 standard requirements by the German Accreditation Office and in accordance with GOST R standard requirements by the Federal Centre of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Federal Service for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Well being. The Laboratory Department of the Institute is allowed to use of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) mark. The Quality Management System is continuously updated in view of new national and international standards, EU standard documents and science achievements in methodical and technical field. NMVRVI have good experience in monitoring of animal and zoonotic pathogens at farm level. Molecular Biology and GMO Unit as Reference GMO Laboratory performs GMO testing and genetic analysis of microorganisms for species typing, genotyping, characterization pathogenicity and virulence factors.
