Description
This transgenic potato, variety Albatros, is resistent towards aminoglycoside antibiotics such as kanamycin, neomycin and geneticin. Such potatos are meant to be cultivated as control plants in field trials with differently genetically modified potato plants.

The LMO 35S-nptII expresses the nptII gene which confers resistance towards aminoglycoside antibiotics. The nptII gene is put under the control of the CaMV 35S promoter and -terminator.
