Profile of the Expert
Dr. Mozgova G.V. is the Head of the National Co-ordination Biosafety Centre at the Institute of Genetics and Cytology, NAS of Belarus. She has been working in the Laboratory of Genetics and Cell Engineering at the Institute of Genetics and Cytology, NASB, since 2005. The area of her scientific interests includes investigation of in vitro cell culture morphogenetic process induction, intensification of the plant breeding process by using morphogenetic process induction and marker-assisted selection techniques. Dr. Mozgova ensures safety of genetic engineering activities and provides risk assessment of transgenic plants developed in the laboratories of IGC, advises specialists of the research laboratories in Belarus and other countries  on risk assessment problems. She is an author and co-author of 41 papers and 4 methodical guidelines for use of in vitro pollen morphogenesis in the breeding process, for selection of rape breeding material by using DNA-markers for identification of the unsaturated fatty acids and erucic acid content, LMO safety assessment. Dr. Mozgova is a co-author of two patents (the Republic of Belarus No. 18778 and the Russian Federation No. 2012120472).
