Profile of the Expert
Prof. Dr. Jothi Malar Panandam is a retired member of the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She specializes in genetics & animal breeding, focusing on small ruminant breeding and molecular marker technologies. She has been involved in a number of research projects funded by local and international organizations. She has over 225 publications, which includes journal and proceedings articles and chapters in books. She has also one of the editors of two books. She has been a member of the Genetic Modification Advisory Committee since 2010 and is a member of the Life Science Expert Working Group under the National Education and Science Council, Malaysia. She is a reviewer for a number of international and local journals. She has also held the positions of honourary treasurer for the Genetics Society of Malaysia and the auditor for the Malaysian Society of Animal Production and the Malaysian Society for Applied Biology.
