She has been a Research Officer with Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) since 1996 in the field of genetic engineering and molecular biology especially in forest tree species. She was actively involved in developing the Biosafety Guidelines Contained Use Activity of Living Modified Organism. Now she is the Director for Research and Assessment Section (SNP) at the Department of Biosafety. This Section does initial technical assessment and research support to process applications received for activities related to genetically modified organisms (GMO). This Section also has been playing an active role in raising awareness about the Biosafety Act through development of public awareness materials such as newsletters and write-ups, guidance documents. She coordinates the Biosafety Training Workshops provided by the Department and also has represented the Department in both international and local events.
