Alpha-1,4-glucan phosphorylase
Abbreviation
CS-pho2-SOLTU
Category of DNA sequence
  • Protein coding sequence
Is the gene / DNA sequence is a synthetic molecule?
No
Donor organism
Donor organism
Solanum tuberosum - Potato, SOLTU
Characteristics of the protein coding sequence
Name of the protein expressed by the coding sequence
Cytosolic starch phosphorylase
Biological function
Phosphorylases catalyse the reversible phosphorolysis of terminal glucose units of alpha-1,4-glucans. Depending on the concentration of inorganic phosphate and glucose-1-phosphate, the enzyme can both synthesise and degrade glucans.
