Description
This genetically modified potato constitutively expresses a Potato Virus Y coat protein cDNA with a modified sequence that leads to a strongly reduced translation efficiency. The expression of this cDNA is expected to confer a PVY resistance.
Recipient Organism or Parental Organisms
The term Recipient organism refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas Parental organisms refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.
