Male Sterile/ Fertility Restored Herbicide Tolerant Canola
EN
PHY14
No
Canola was modified to express the barnase and the barstar gene in the anthers which work in tandem to confer male fertility and restore it, respectively. the plant was also modified to express the bar gene which confers tolerance to the glufosinate herbicide.
EN
The term “Recipient organism” refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas “Parental organisms” refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.
