Description
Roundup Ready has been genetically engineered to withstand glyphosate(the active ingredient in Monsanto's herbicide Roundup). It was produced by the incorporation of cp4 epsps gene into GTS 40-3-2 by biolistic transformation of embryos of soybean cultivar A5403
Recipient Organism or Parental Organisms
The term Recipient organism refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas Parental organisms refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.
