Profile of the Expert
The nominee is senior research associate with 20 years of experience in research and teaching. She has set up an analytical facility for GM food and feed within the Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. This laboratory implements methods harmonized with EURL-GMFF guidelines. The quality of the laboratory's performance was verified through collaborative trials organized by EURL-GMFF. She participated in trainings and workshops organized by EURL-GMFF. She coordinated several research projects related to GMO detection as well as the first Monitoring of B&H market for the presence of GMO in food and feed. In addition, she is associate professor at the University of Sarajevo. She teaches postgraduate course Principles of Genetics and Genetic Engineering at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Science. Also, she teaches Genetic Diversity courses at the Faculty of Science. The issues related to potential environmental consequences of GM cultivation and utilization are addressed.
