The Ministry of Environment of Sri Lanka remains committed for the management of the environment and natural resources of the country, maintaining the equilibrium between the trends in rapid economic development and use of natural resource base. Ministry of Environment acts as the National Focal Point(NFP) and the Competent National Authority (CNA) for the National Biosafety framework.It is responsible for the all functions of the Cartagena protocol on Biosafety.
