Activity details
Description of the initiative
Workshop on "User Training of Biosafety Clearing House (BCH) website of Sri Lanka" was held 29th January 2020 at the Ministry of Environment & Wildlife Resources, Battaramulla, Sri Lanka. The aim of the workshop was to build capacity of the National Competent Authority (NCA) on how to perform administrative functions of Sri Lanka BCH website. A half-day training was carried out to the IT professionals and the Biosafety professionals of the NCA. Initial introduction about BCH central portal and the Sri Lanka BCH was followed by training moderators and administrators about basic functions of the BCH website.
The training was conducted by the Lankacom Pvt Ltd, the IT service provider for the Sri Lanka BCH website and the National consultant for BCH web support.  The training was organized and sponsored by the National Biosafety Project
Objective and main expected outcomes or lesson learned
Make the NCA competent to maintain and upload information in the BCH Sri Lanka website
