This Guide to the Aarhus Convention is the result of a collaborative project between the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE), the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency. It is aimed simultaneously at policy makers and politicians responsible for transposing the Convention into national systems as well as at public authorities and their advisers faced with carrying out the Convention's obligations. The Implementation Guide to the Aarhus Convention provides both a general overview and a detailed article-by-article analysis of the Convention.
