How can we make disseminating GMO safer [#377]
I really appreciate the on going discussion and thank you all for sharing valuable information.  I am thinking about "How can we make disseminating GMO safer?" [post #123, and #129, on management in developing countries], and the other question in my mind is biocontrol and GMvirus.

My question is people do some traditional own research in his/her way. They don't know what are control variables and some dependent variables...  We have to develop some common strategies, methodologies, plan of action, etc to make disseminating GMO safer.  I mean some educational points of views.  E.g. countries like India, uneducated people ratio is high, so how can we make [the research] safer?

Re: How can we make disseminating GMO safer [#428]
Right. I think there are a problem of education about ecosystem (its
physiology and so on) and a problem of GMOs safer management.
The education in country where there aren't much learned people, about these
sciences, the diffusion of the information must affect their culture, their
religion, also respect an ethical worth. Religious institutions can be a
way.
I think ethical worth concerns all country.

dear friends
This is a big problem that Pietro saids
A problem of education about ecosystem  and a problem
of GMOs safer management in both the regulator body
must be planning for increase this knowlge in
population. I think by national system of education,
by NGOs, by many ways. And we must give them education
with all ethical worth with our values such cultural,
indigenous. I think to learn with all the values of
the society.

Re: How can we make disseminating GMO safer [#429]
Dear colleagues
We have to develop some common strategies, guidelines, methodologies, plan of action, etc to make disseminating GMOs safer. I think we need both education (long term), strong
regulations and public participation programs in our countries, and to take account of our culture, our folk, our religion and all ethical values.

Dear Friends,

Regarding the need for common strategies, guidelines, methodologies, etc., how about implementation of the Biosafety Protocol by Parties, and encouraging non-Parties to ratify?

Dear Friends,

I would like to respond to the question "Regarding the need for common strategies, guidelines, methodologies, etc., how about implementation of the Biosafety Protocol by Parties, and encouraging non-Parties to ratify?"

Simple - now, it is not possible. We have in some countries specific strategies, guidelines, methodologies but these are needed for all countries, not only a few. Really friends it is complicated.

Dear Friends
I certainly agree with Mr Stanley about the implementation of the Biosafety Protocol by Parties , and encouraging non -Parties to ratify.
