Africa Network on PAEP

Introduction

The Africa Network on Public Awareness, Education and Participation Concerning Living Modified Organisms (Africa Network on PEAP) is an online forum established to facilitate exchange of information and experiences relevant to the implementation of Article 23 of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. The network was established following a recommendation by the Africa regional capacity-building workshop on public awareness, education and participation concerning the safe transfer, handling and use of LMOs which was held 5-9 November 2012 in Kampala, Uganda.

The Network contains two information exchange platforms:

The Regional Discussion Group is intended to facilitate discussions on specific topics for a specified period of time. The Information Board can be used by members of the network to post, any time, general information or news on PAEP that may be of interest to other members.

To post messages in the “Information Board” and/or the “Regional Discussion Groups”, sign in into the BCH and click on the “Create a new thread” button to initiate a new discussion topic or click the ‘Reply’ button to respond to a posted message.

To receive, via e-mail, the messages posted in the Regional Discussion Group or the Information Board, click on the 'Watch forum' button.

Participants can also access and share information resources on PAEP by visiting the resources section.
