General information
Name of the gene or DNA sequence
Viral protein 60
Category of DNA sequence
  • Protein coding sequence
Is the gene / DNA sequence is a synthetic molecule?
Donor organism
Donor organism
Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus - RHDV
Characteristics of the protein coding sequence
Name of the protein expressed by the coding sequence
Capsid protein VP60
Biological function
The viral capsid protein VP60 is a structural protein of the rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV). The VP60 protein alone does not trigger the disease in rabbits.

The vaccines used in this case contain inactivated virus and thus the VP60 protein.
