The University of Bristol is home to BrisSynBio, a multi-disciplinary research centre that focuses on the biomolecular design and engineering aspects of synthetic biology, and has been established as one of six Synthetic Biology Research Centres in the UK. This submission of information has been co-produced with researchers at the University of West England. Both Universities and research centres carry out research and education in various aspects of risk and biosafety that relate to synthetic biology.
