General Information
Profile of the expert
He has been employed as a researcher by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MHME), Iran since 1992. He received his Ph.D in biotechnology from the Institute Pasteur in 2001. Professor Omidinia has more than 16 years of biotechnology research experience, which has resulted in over 70 research articles, reviews, books and patents.  Throughout his career, he has worked not only as a researcher, but also as a one of key persons in safety assessments of genetically modified organism (GMO) at the MHME.  He was founder of the Biosafety Committee of ministry of health in 2005 and participated in 5 COP-MOP meetings. He has continued his duties with MHME as a member of Biosafety Committee so far.  He has been appointed as the National Project coordinator by the National Executing Agency of the Iranian Capacity Building Project to implement the Cartagena protocol on Biosafety.

He has been appointed as the National Project coordinator by the National Executing Agency of the Iranian Capacity Building Project to implement the Cartagena protocol on Biosafety. His recent duties have been initialized since Nov. 2017. Meanwhile he was founder of the Biosafety Committee of ministry of health in 2005.
