Biological function
Arabidopsis thaliana Nucleoside Triphosphate Translocator 1 (AtNTT1) is a plastidic ATP/ADP transporter. Plant NTTs supply ATP-dependent reactions in non-photosynthetic plastids. Since starch biosynthesis is driven by hexose phosphates and ATP, AtNTT1 supplies the amyloplasts with ATP and contributes to starch biosynthesis.
