UNEP/GEF Project for Sustainable Capacity Building for Effective Participation in the BCH (BCH III)EN
In order to build Jamaica’s capacity to effectively meet its obligations under the Cartagena Protocol and participate in the associated Biosafety Clearing-House (BCH) online portal, the Institute of Jamaica in collaboration with the National Environment and Planning Agency, Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, and the United Nations Environment Programme hosted two online national workshops. The Jamaica Biosafety Clearing-House Workshops target specific stakeholder groups, namely i) policy-makers and decision-makers and ii) academia and private sector. The two lead workshop facilitators were provided by the United Nations Environment Programme with the Institute of Jamaica, through the Jamaica Clearing-House Mechanism, co-facilitating the Workshops. These Workshops oriented stakeholders towards aspects of the Biosafety Policy for Jamaica that address the Cartagena Protocol.EN
