Biosafety Expert (EXP)

As a scientific officer in the German Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety I work in the Department of Genetic Engineering and other Biotechnological Processes, Unit Traceability, Methods of Detection, Biosafety Clearing-House. As such, I am responsible for the tasks of the Federal Office as the competent national authority to the Cartagena Protocol.

The German Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) is the competent national authority to the Cartagena Protocol. To that end, I take care of the tasks related to the transboundary movement of LMOs from or to Germany exempt the import and export of LMO within the European Union which is a common economic area. Furthermore, I am responsible for the information exchange with the BCH.
