Dr. Lakmini Priyantha serving as the Head of the Seed Certification Service since August 15th, 2015. She is responsible for supervising, monitoring and guiding Seed Certification Service (SCS), of the Department of Agriculture. As the Additional Director she is responsible for supervising Seed quality control system in Sri Lanka with the following Components, Field registration, field inspection, Seed sampling, Seed testing, Seed health testing , Post control testing, Conducting DUS test, Fruit crop Certification and implementation of Seed act No. 22 of 2003 and conducting seed technology research.
In addition, she is directly involving in implementing Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification programme.
