Description
Medicago sativa, alfalfa (also known as lucerne) is a perennial herbaceous legume. It contains the epsps gene from Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain CP4 to allow for the use of glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide Roundup®, as a weed control option.
