Manual Notes
Article 15 of the protocol indicates specific goals for a risk assessment with respect to determining the potential adverse effects that can be posed by an LMO. A risk assessment must, consequently consist of several steps that characterise these potential adverse effects and assess the probability that they be realised.
In order to understand what is meant by risk assessment it is important to be familiar with the concepts of risk and hazard, and how these terms differ.
