Asia-Pacific Network on PAEP

Introduction

The Asia-Pacific Network on Public Awareness, Education and Participation Concerning Living Modified Organisms (Asia-Pacific Network on PEAP) is a mechanism established to facilitate exchange of information and experiences relevant to the implementation of Article 23 of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. The network was established following a recommendation by the Asia-Pacific regional training workshop on public awareness, education and participation concerning the safe transfer, handling and use of LMOs which was held 25 - 29 March 2013 in Hanoi, Viet Nam.

The Network contains two information-sharing platforms:

The Regional Discussion Forum provides an online space where registered network members can hold topic-focussed discussions over a specified period of time. The Bulletin Board can be used to post PAEP-related news, information on upcoming events, and other relevant announcements that may be of interest to network members.

To post messages in the “Regional Discussion Forum” and/or on the “Bulletin Board”, sign in into the BCH and click on the “Create a new thread” button to initiate a new discussion topic or click the ‘Reply’ button to respond to a posted message.

To receive, via e-mail, the messages posted in the Regional Discussion Forum or the Bulletin Board, click on the 'Watch forum' button.

The Discussion Forum also allows members to attach files and or provide links to relevant sources of additional information. Participants can also access and share information resources on PAEP by visiting the resources section.
