Maize event GA21 has been genetically modified to express mEPSPS protein which confers tolerance to glyphosate herbicide. According to the existing scientific data and information available during the safety assessment, it is concluded that the maize GA21 is as safe and substantially equivalent as its unmodified counterpart. There is no indication that proteins derived from corn GA21 are toxins and can be allergens.
