Data on specific expression patterns may be relevant for risk assessment in order to determine exposure, and may also include data confirming the absence of unintended products (e.g. in the case, for instance, where the gene product is intended to function only in a specific tissue, data may be used to confirm its specificity in that tissue and demonstrate its absence in other tissues).
