Item 11: Proposed Annexes
[#2604]
Item 11: Proposed Annexes
There are three proposed annexes:
Annex 1 intendes to provide the user with a contextual framing of how monitoring fits within the decision-making process of the protocol.
Annex 2 intends to provide support for the technical aspects of the guidance with examples of monitoring subjects and parameters for consideration within different parts of the ecosystem
Annex 3 intends to give the inexperience used a broad reference guide to the recommendations made in the guidance document
Question: Do you feel these Annexes are useful, and if so, which ones, and if not, how could they be improved?

Annex 1 intends to provide the user with a contextual framing of how monitoring fits within the decision-making process of the protocol.
The flow chart is generally considered helpful, and a similar chart in this document would probably received positively too.
It could also be the place where we talk about the place that monitoring has relative to risk assessment and risk management, and its place in the over-all process of decision making.
Annex 2 intends to provide support for the technical aspects of the guidance with examples of monitoring subjects and parameters for consideration within different parts of the ecosystem
I would need to see examples of what this entails to know whether this would be useful.
The danger is that this turns into a compulsory shopping list – such shopping lists don’t go together with the concept of guidance.
But I can imagine that it could be a useful approach to help people develop ideas.
Annex 3 intends to give the inexperience used a broad reference guide to the recommendations made in the guidance document
May be useful, but it is too early to start working on a text here yet.
We can compile this at a stage where the text of the guidance has become more clear.

In my mind it is too early for this decision. I think that whether to have annexes or not and, if yes, which ones, should be decided later once the main text is well crafted

Advise to move discussing this to later, after the document itself has shaped up a bit more

I agree with previous comments, we can decide about having or not annexes once we have a clear idea on the content of the document. In the structures that have been proposed (answering another question by our Chair) there are not reference yet to annexes.
