Mexico is currently working to define the regulation or surveillance of synthetic biology products, so the implementation of laboratory methodologies has not been required for analysis. However, it is of special interest to know the experience of other countries in this area, and the possibility that they can share their protocols or even better if the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity could organize training specifically on methodologies for detection, identification and monitoring of organisms, components and synthetic biology products.
We support Mexico's proposal that the CBD Secretariat organize specific training for the detection, identification and monitoring of synthetic biology organisms, components and products, and it would be very enriching for some countries to share the Protocols in which it has results have been obtained, however, many of the Laboratories do not share their standardized protocols which are considered confidential information, and are not even published in indexed journals for use by other laboratories, therefore it seems that the most feasible would be a training Specify as previously indicated.
