Expert en prévention des risques biotechnologiques
(EXP)
last updated: 21 août 2026
As the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Manager at the National Biotechnology Authority (NBA), I am involved in operationalization of departmental research and development strategies. I direct research and development outputs by participating in technology transfer initiatives for biotechnology products of national significance. My current portfolio also involves engaging stakeholders to influence biotechnology research and biosafety regulation frameworks in workshops, seminars and conferences. At the Genomics and Biobank Centre, our department organizes training programs to enhance team competencies in emerging biotechnology fields.
As the RDI Manager I am directly involved in operationalising the National GMO testing framework aligned with Cartagena Protocol and NBA biosafety regulations. I serve as the key person involved in validation of GMO detection methods as well as approval of GMO testing results. As standard practice I also recommend inter-laboratory validation studies to ensure accuracy and reproducibility of GMO tests.
