MON0603-6 x ACS-ZM003-2 x DAS-40278-9 maize (hereinafter referred to as NK603 x T25 x DAS-40278 maize), tolerant to herbicides glyphosate, glufosinate ammonium, 2,4-D and haloxyfop-R. The combined maize NK603 x T25 x DAS-40278 was obtained by sexual crossing of the single events NK603, T25 and DAS-40278, previously approved by the national biosafety legislation, Normative Resolution no. 5.
CTNBio considered that the request complies with the norms and legislation in force that aim to guarantee the biosafety of the environment, agriculture, human and animal health, being

Approved for environmental release, cultivation, production, handling, transfer, transport, marketing, import, export, storage, consumption and disposal, NK603 x T25 x DAS-40278 corn, obtained by conventional genetic improvement of individual genetic events.
CTNB norms considered that the environment complies with the current legislation that aims to guarantee the safety of the environment, agriculture, human and animal health, does not present any impacts, and this activity does not present impacts to the environment.
Introduced genes, the organisms of origin and their specific functions; Detailed description of the gene expression product inserted in the recipient organism; Proof of the genetic inheritance pattern of the inserted genes; Description of the pleiotropic and epistatic effects of the inserted genes, when observed; Demonstration of the degree of genotypic stability, specifying the methodology used and the number of generations evaluated; Information on the existence of interactions with adverse effects, when two or more genes are introduced into the same GMO, by recombinant DNA techniques and their possible consequences; and, Presentation of the genetic modifications included in the GMO that may alter its ability to reproduce, survive, disseminate or transfer inserted genes to other organisms.
