Please note that there will be a webinar entitled: "Integrating Biosafety into NBSAPs and Other Conservation Planning Tools" presented by Peter Deupmann from the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, 25 Oct 2016 at 9:00 EDT / New York
Summary: The Cartagena Protocol is an integral component of the CBD. Implementation of the Cartagena Protocol ultimately contributes to realization of the CBD objectives. Focusing on NBSAPS, this webinar will highlight methods and approaches for integrated implementation of measures related to the Cartagena Protocol and the CBD. Mr. Deupmann will introduce the Cartagena Protocol and show how its objective relates to the CBD. He will also explain the benefits of mainstreaming biosafety into NBSAPs and tools and approaches to do this.
Peter Deupmann works as a Legal Officer for the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD). His work mainly focuses on issues related to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. Prior to joining the Secretariat, he worked as a Legal Officer at the Legal Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. (Photo: LinkedIn).
