BCH-ORGA-SCBD-12125-5 Organism Cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV)Viruses

The 35S promoter was isolated from the Cauliflower Mosaic Virus (CaMV) and is one of the most widely used promoters in plant transformation.
The 35S promoter is a very strong constitutive promoter, resulting in high levels of gene expression in dicot plants. However, it is less effective in monocots, especially in cereals.
