Additional Information
The Glycine max heat shock protein 17.3B promoter controls expression of downstream sequences under heat shock conditions. Research has indicated that activity was tightly proportional to the temperature and duration of the heat treatment . At ambient temperatures (e.g., 25℃), the activity from the promoter is extremely low. Under short exposures to higher temperatures (e.g., 38℃), high levels of transcriptional activity was observed. In addition, environmental chemical pollution may also activate the promoter independent of heat treatment and further amplify the transcriptional response under higher temperatures. One study found that exposure to anti-inflammatory drug acetyl salicylic acid and the membrane-fluidizer benzyl alcohol induces transcriptional activity from the promoter without the need for heat treatment. Other research has indicated that the promoter is unresponsive to various plant hormones, flagellin, hydrogen peroxide, osmotic stress and high salt.
