Eucalyptus urophylla is native to Lesser Sunda Archipelago (Indonesia and Timor Leste).
EN
Climate: Prefers humid and subhumid climatic zones at higher elevations.
Soil: Naturally occurs on volcanically derived soils. It can be found on loamy, lateritic and sometimes clayed soils, but performs best on deep, moist, well-drained soils.
Temperature: Between 18 to 28℃. Sensitive to frost.
Ecological interactions: Eucalyptus tress are known to suppress growth of understorey plants and adjoining crop plants, through the release of allelopathic chemicals.

In addition to its native range (Lesser Sundar Archipelago), Eucalyptus urophylla has been introduced to other tropical regions, such as Africa (e.g., Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Madagascar), the Americas (e.g., Brazil, French Guyana, and Honduras), Asia (e.g., China, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines and Viet Nam) and Australia.

Eucalyptus urophylla is considered to be an important eucalypt for timber and paper pulp. The wood can be used to produce charcoal. Wood mulch and bark particles can be used as a fuel. Eucalyptus trees are also grown for their essential oils. Many plantations rely on clonally propagated elite trees and is often hybridized with Eucalyptus grandis.
