The promoter of the zebrafish myosin light chain (pZMLC) is a muscle specific promoter derived from Danio rerio. This promoter directs high-level transcription of the downstream gene mylz2 (zebrafish myosin light chain 2 ) specifically in skeletal muscle cells. The zMLC-1934 promoter is a specific 1,934 bp fragment upstream of the mylz2 gene commonly used in transgenic constructs
