The NCBP shall be lead body to coordinate and harmonize inter-agency and multi-sector efforts to develop biosafety policies in the country (where such are not already stipulated by law) and set scientific, technical and procedural standards on actions by agencies and other sectors to promote biosafety in the Philippines; oversee the implementation of the NBF; act as a clearing house for biosafety matters; and coordinate and harmonize the efforts of all concerned agencies and departments in this regard.
