Genome-edited maize for increased growth under stress
EN
ZmNAC52-B
No
Maize (Zea mays) line B104 was edited with CRISPR-Cas resulting in the addition of one base pair in the ZmNAC52 gene, knocking it out  due to an out-of-frame insertion. This results in increased growth under conditions of environmental stress causing DNA damage.
EN
The term “Recipient organism” refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas “Parental organisms” refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.

  • Gene editing (e.g. CRISPR-Cas, etc.)
Some of these genetic elements may be present as fragments or truncated forms. Please see notes below, where applicable.
  • BCH-GENE-SCBD-277316-1 NAC-transcription factor 52 | Zea mays (Maize, Corn, MAIZE)
Protein coding sequence | Changes in physiology and/or production (Growth rate)
The genome edited maize contains a thymine insertion at  chromosome 2 at position 83537706, which is within the coding sequence of the transcription factor NAC52. The mutation causes an out-of-frame mutation to render the endogenous gene non-functional.
