The Faculty of Biology and Soil Science trains professionals in natural sciences, who will efficiently contribute to solving problems of utmost importance in this branch. The training process is fulfilled according to international standards. The internships have an important role in the educational process in all specializations; and, they take place in the most picturesque regions of the country and abroad. One of the priorities of the Faculty of Biology and Soil Science is student involvement in research. In the framework of study programs the core and optional theoretical courses are given to allow students put research into practice at Research Centre “Life Sciences”. The Faculty of Biology and Soil Science has Biotechnology and Biosafety courses adressed to the university education of undergraduate and master degree students. The Laboratory on GMO Detection within the Department of Plant Biology performs research activities and detection of GMOs.
