Chitedze Agricultural Research Station (CARS) is under the Department of Agricultural Research Services in the Ministry of Agriculture in Malawi. Its mandate includes conducting agriculture research and disseminating agricultural technologies aimed at improving national food and nutrition security. The molecular biology laboratory at CARS serves a reference point for detection of Living Modified Organisms to support biosafety compliance in Malawi.
