Methodology and points to consider

1. The risk of the release of the transgenic rapeseed line with incorporated gene sequence aroA on the territory of the experimental field that satisfies safety requirements for the experimental fields for the testing of non-pathogenic genetically engineered organisms is considered as not hazardous.
2. Monitoring measures for growing transgenic line on the territory of the experimental field, risk management measures, measures of harvesting at the end of the growing season, developed by the Applicant ("Belarusian State University") are effective for overcoming long-term adverse effects. Expert ("Institute of Genetics and Cytology") recommended that the experimental plants must be destroyed by incineration in a cremator at the end of the growing season.
3. Experts give recommendations on conducting environmental experiments on the experimental field, that satisfies safety requirements, as well as recommendations for laboratory experimental tests to investigate the possibility of the secondary seed dormancy and the possibility of the overwintering, which can be conducted in parallel with the field tests. In the case of the experimental research in the field environment the possibility of the incorporated sequence transfer to the other rapeseed genotypes growing on the experimental field and wild relatives should be monitored by polymerase chain reaction to the target gene (gene sequence aroA).
4. The submitted by the applicant rape transgenic line with incorporated gene sequence aroA, providing resistance to the herbicide glyphosate, can be released into the environment for trials on the territory of the experimental field, that satisfies safety requirements for the experimental fields and other objects provided for testing nonpathogenic genetically engineered organisms.
