The stacked event MON87460 × MON89034 × NK603 maize obtained from conventional breeding of the genetically modified maize events MON87460, MON89034 and NK603 to express Cold shock protein B (CSPB) which provide tolerate cultivation under water limited conditions (drought tolerant), two Bt-toxins (Cry1A.105 and Cry2Ab2 proteins) which provide protection to certain lepidopteran pests and CP4 EPSPS protein which confers tolerance to glyphosate herbicide. According to the existing scientific data and information available during the safety assessment, it is concluded that the stacked event MON87460 × MON89034 × NK603 maize is expected to be as safe as the single events that has previously been assessed by the food biosafety subcommittee and technical biosafety committee of the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC).
