Potato modified for increased methionine content in leaves and tubers
EN
35S-alphaTS
No
Potato plants with the insertion of a constitutively expressed endogenous threonine synthase in the antisense orientation. The modification leads to a reduction in threonine synthase which inturn results in an increase in the methionine content in the leaves and tubers.

The genetically modified potato plants are of weaker growth than the parental variety and have chlorotic leaves.
EN
The term “Recipient organism” refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas “Parental organisms” refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.
