MON-ØØ863-5 × MON-ØØ81Ø-6
Stacked insect resistant corn hybrid derived from cross-breeding between MON863 and MON810 and contains the modified genetic elements from both parents.

The cry3Bb1 gene from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kumamotoensis which provides resistance to corn root worm and the nptII gene confers tolerance to the antibiotic kanamycin were inherited from MON863. A truncated form of the cry1Ab gene from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki HD-1 which affords resistance to attack by the European corn borer (ECB) was inherited from MON810.

The term “Recipient organism” refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas “Parental organisms” refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.
