This presentation of the SCBD Programme of work on public awareness, education and participation concerning the safe transfer, handling and use of living modified organisms (2011-2015) by UNEP-GEF Biosafety Project was held for Parties to the Protocol on Biosafety to further encourage the implementation of Article 23 of the Protocol. The presentations were held during National Project Coordinators Training workshops for the UNEP-GEF Projects on the Development and Implementation of the National Biosafety Frameworks in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Similar activities are planned for Latin America and the Caribbean in June 2012.
