Prohibition of the import and/or use of the LMO(s)
The impact assessment has identified environmental risks by adopting rapeseed GT73 in Norway. The risk of unwanted gene flow from genetically modified rapeseed to conventional rapeseed, as well as other species in Norwegian flora, is not considered to be outweighed by any benefit to society nor is it likely that the production and use of the GT73 promotes sustainable development. Overall, this implies that Norway imposes a ban on the product pursuant to the Gene Technology Act.
