Professor Gholamreza Salehi Jouzani (PhD in Genetics) has more than 20 years of experience in different aspects of genetics, modern biotechnology and biosafety. During this period, he has performed more than 50 research projects in the field of Agricultural Biotechnology, has published/presented more than 200 scientific papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and books or in different congresses, and organized more than 10 training courses on biosafety.  Currently, he is a faculty member of Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran (ABRII) and works as Iran National Focal point for Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. Previously, he held several executive positions, including head of microbial biotechnology and biosafety department of ABRII, Head of Technology Affairs Office of Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO), member of different Biosafety Committees at National and Ministry levels. In addition, he has been involved in preparation of national biosafety law and regulations for more than 15 years, several international negotiations on modern biotechnology and Biosafety regulations such as COP-MOPs and Codex Alimentarious Ad HOCs on Food derived from modern biotechnology.
