Additional Information
The  human cytomegalovirus immediate-early promoter containing intron A  promotes high levels of transcription in animal systems. The inclusion of intron further further enhances transcription compared to the immediate-early promoter alone (15 times higher; human embryonic kidney cells). This promoter-intron system has previously been deployed in vaccine research.

From Sridhar et al. (2008) the following portions are found within this sequence:
Regulatory sequence = 437 bp
Enhancer = 481 bp
Promoter = 62 bp
Exon A = 120 bp
Intron A = 824 bp
